单元分析：本单元的话题是关于城市的环境卫生方面，这一话题也与学生的生活息息相关。教师在教学过程中，紧密联系张家港城市的实际情况，引导学生发现城市环境卫生方面的问题，并思考解决问题的答案，从而使他们增强环保意识，更加珍惜和热爱城市环境。尤其近几年国家大力解决环境保护问题，让学生有了过去与现在的对比，结合前面第五单元signs的话题，单元之间互相衔接，巩固学生运用语言的能力。本单元主要学习的句型有：   What made....dirty/messy？以及What can we do to及其回答。本单元也呈现了情态动词can的另一个用法即表示“建议/可以”。

学情分析：

本课时学习时学生已掌握一般过去时态的用法，结合前面第四单元的话题可以让学生巩固旧知，引入新知，对本单元的话题有更好的掌握和了解，对于How to keep our city clean?学生能结合生活实际，设想自己的解决方案。

1.  听懂、读、说：keep, clean, make, air, dirty, smoke,   rubbish, messy, dead, bin, plant, more。

2. 听懂、读、说日常用语：What   makes …dirty/messy?、… make(s)   …dirty/ messy.、What can we do   to …?、We can …。

3. 正确地理解并朗读对话内容，在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

4. 初步运用本课所学的词汇和日常用语谈论城市的污染问题，并说出多种解决方案。

1. 通过任务单Task 1检测学生词汇以及课堂知识掌握情况  

2. 通过小组角色扮演检测学生掌握课文内容的情况

T: Do u want a city like this? So   we should always keep our city clean so that we can have a clean and tidy   city. (点题出示标题)

T: But how can we do to keep our   city clean? Do u have any ideas?

T: Well done! Now,today, Miss Li   and her Ss are also talking about how to keep their city clean. Let’s join   them and help them.

Step 3 While-reading

1 Learn the first part

(1) Look and discuss

T: Look at this picture.   Who are they?

S:Miss Li and her   students(WB/LT/SH/Nancy)

T: What can you see on   the blackboard?

S: Some pictures.

T: Yes, These old   pictures are about the city many years ago. And the city was ...

S: messy and dirty.

T: What was messy and   dirty?

S: River streets and air  

Present “air”  teach it.     板书 “streets  river    air ”

Read the sentences: The   streets and the river were messy and dirty. The air was dirty too.

T: I have a question.   What made the air dirty?

T:  Can you try to ask about the streets and the   river?

（引导学生提出第二、三个问题，What made the streets   messy and dirty? And what made the river messy and dirty? 完成板书,并带读问句

(2) Watch and answer

 T: Now let's watch the video and find the   answers

Discuss in two and then   check out the answer.

2 Learn the second part

Look at the picture of   Part two

T: The city is clean   now.  Because the government/adults did   a lot of things to make the city clean.

T: But we are students.   What can we do to keep our city clean?

Brain storm(学生看图说话，自由回答）

Read and finish the mind   map.(任务单Task 1 & page60   Think and write)

Work in four, Read the   second part and discuss the answer.

Teach the phrases.

And pay attention here,   we can take the bus and the metro to school, it can help keep the air clean.
